Reference popularity is the name of technology allowing to take into consideration authority of a document during the calculation of a relevance of a document to a defined request – presence in the Internet of links to this document and a text of these links. Several realizations of reference popularity being used by different search systems exist: PageRank (Google), TITS (Yandex), ITS (Oporto).
